How to Create the Right Expectations in our Life

Bible Study Notes: Apostle Bravo

Luke 9:23: Then he said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me.

· In order to live a life pleasing and acceptable to GOD we have to die daily in our flesh

o 1 Corinthians 15:31: I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.

· Must walk in full obedience by no longer accepting the things and lifestyles that are not good for you! FULL obedience NOT partial!

· We must commit to a lifestyle that is holy, acceptable, and pleasing before GOD eyes

· The right teachings lead to the right expectations in our life

· If our soul is resurrected we can experience life through Jesus Christ

1 Samuel 2:30: Therefore the Lord God of Israel says: ‘I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.’ But now the Lord says: ‘Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.

· Honor God by worshiping, praising, praying, and acknowledging him in all your ways and he will honor you

John 16:33: These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

· No storm can destroy you if Jesus is on your boat! Jesus is GOD and GOD is in you!

o Matthew 8:23-27

· Jesus never told his disciples that they wouldn’t have trouble

· We are to be prepared for trouble when it arises

How do we prepare for tribulation when it arises in our life?

1. Have a prayer life

2. Stay in the word (be a biblical student everyday praying, reading, and meditating on the word)

3. Stay in the presence of GOD
